Veganuary, a charity based in the UK, which inspires people to go vegan in the month of January - over 629,000 people signed up for the 2022 campaign. They have a great website and you can sign up to their campaign and receive resources that will help you get started.
A lot of the UK products we stock were naturally vegan, especially our biscuits, sweet and crisps. With the rise in veganism in the UK in the last 5 years some of the major manufacturing companies have altered their recipes (without the taste) to become vegan. You would never know that some of the old school favourites such as Rowntree Fruit Pastilles and Fruit Gums, Jammie Dodgers, Fox's Party Rings are part of this movement, so completely vegan friendly and completely yummy still. This Christmas Terry's introduced a plant based Terry's orange chocolate bar. A customer was very sceptical about it until they tasted it and came back to buy more as they could not tell the difference, so well done Terry's.
The loose sweet manufacturers have also been converted and we are now seeing so many more fun vegan sweets coming to our jars; mermaids, fizzy strawberries, sour apples, space mix to name but a few. But the best news is that the sweet that childhood is made of, flying saucers, are vegan.
